Views of Castanheira & Igreja Santo Antônio Dec 2006 No. 1 of 3

Hi welcome to Castanheira, Mato Grosso State, Brazil. Here are some views of my new parish and more follow in the next two blogs [1]:

This is the entrance to the "busy" part of town off the main dirt road. It is called "Rua Santo Antônio", obviously named after our church, and it is also the start of the three tarred roads of the town.

For the next four photos I stood on our cross roads and photographed the four roads.

"Aveneda Quarto de Julho" [4th of July Avenue]

I don't know the name, but I call it "Aveneda Four Wheel Drive"

"Rua Santo Antônio" with the church on the right. The "Dog" sleeps day and night in the middle of the junction. I don't know how it is not killed.

Upper "Main Street" Castanheira. It makes a change from "Lower Main Street" Carnew.
